Shakin’ Stevens – ‘Green Door’

Shakin' Stevens - 'Green Door'

The green door in question has a “happy crowd” behind it. Shaky desperately wants to effect entry and bring his questionable pieces to the party, but no dice; they won’t let him in. If only the green door had been a metaphor for Ireland not letting Shakin’ Stevens records in, the way we had those public service ads in the 1980s urging us to keep rabies out.

But no; this latest variant spread from the UK charts and topped our own for four weeks. Was there anything we could inflict upon the UK hit parade in return?
