But really, all there is to ‘Axel F’ is that short familiar synth line. Fair play to Faltermeyer for parlaying it into a three-minute single, and a number one hit single at that. I recall the movie also being an exercise in dragging out a pretty meagre concept, and it’s not a fond recollection.
