What motivational memes and inspirational quotes drove The Script and Will.i.am while making ‘Hall Of Fame’, do you reckon? An Insta post that says “Keep It Stupid, Simple”? A coffee mug with “Same Shit, Different Day” on it? That ’70s poster of a tennis player scratching their arse, with the slogan “Yerra, This’ll Do”?
I don’t like to knock people for finding inspiration in a song, no matter how useless that song may be. It’s a dreadful world out there, and anything that gives you solace or motivation is your business. I just hope that ‘Hall Of Fame’ motivated you to seek out music other than this corny, cliched, overblown rock-rap rubbish and the shameless emotional manipulation of its video. You deserve better.
